Apple takes security very seriously; Therefore, Figuring out how to transfer passwords on an Apple device can be challenging if you need to know what you’re looking for. Fortunately, using a Mac or MacBook, you can transfer all the passwords stored in the Keychain of the Apple iCloud account to the Google account of your Android device. This requires that your Apple Mac be running macOS Monterey.
Once exported, your passwords will all be collected in a CSV file. You should keep these passwords safe until you migrate to Android. To get started, follow these steps:
- Open System Preferences on the Mac or MacBook connected to your iCloud account.
- Look for Passwords and click on it.
- Enter your authentication password, which you also use to sign in to your Mac.
- At the bottom, look for the three-dot menu and click it.
- You should see two options. Click on Export Passwords.
- Confirm that you want to log out of your passwords. Any password stored with Apple’s encryption is much safer than being available in a CSV file. Therefore, we emphasize that you keep the file in a safe place.
- Give your CSV file a name and a location.
Doing so will not delete your passwords. You now have a copy of all your passwords, which you can import into Google Chrome or other third-party services. Make sure to store the CSV file in a secure area; you will need it soon.
All your passwords are now integrated into LastPass and can be easily accessed across devices. Like Google’s password manager on Android devices, LastPass can complete this process automatically.
