Safeguard Martial Arts promotes self-control and builds physical control through a variety of mental and physical training exercises. Finding peace amidst a storm might seem like something only high-level self-help gurus can achieve, but nothing could be further from the truth.
By understanding that we, largely, simply do not have control over many of life’s ups and downs, we can come to terms with that by choosing peace over fear. Feeling confident that we are the masters of our inner voice is a learned skill, and mastery over self is a massive part of martial arts, one which we focus on to help our students gain positive control.
This philosophy is largely why we are not a “belt achievement only” type martial arts school. Rather, we believe in the process and practice of martial arts. Learning self-mastery as our badge of honour, vs. approaching class with an expectation of being rewarded with a stripe of honour.
