Orange Juice
Fresh juice stains need to be acted on fast.
If they dry they are very hard to remove so it is best to attack them as soon as they occur.
You begin by sponging with water to dilute the stain as much as possible. Use cool water, never hot as this may make it harder to get out.
If your fabric allows (check the washing label) you may use a diaper wash detergent containing sodium percarbonate to soak the stain in.
If you are dealing with a fabric that is coloured you may try covering with a paste made from cream of tartar and warm water. You put it on the stain and wait for an hour.
Rinse well following treatment and wash normally.
If there is still some stain you may be able to move more of it using a combination of methelated spirits and ammonia (50% to 50%).
If the stain has been allowed to dry you can try using some glycerin as a pre-treatment. This may ‘soften’ up the stain.
You should leave the Glycerine on the stain for two hours and then add a few drops of vinegar.
Leave the vinegar on the stain for five minutes and then rinse with fresh water.
Wash normally.
