Our first idea was creating a simple job matching site dedicated to reducing the effort of finding a new job for healthcare workers, but during the early stages of the pandemic, this idea evolved into something more. When healthcare organizations required more front-line caregivers to backfill staff who were being infected with COVID-19, we realized that talent acquisition was not meeting the mark to quickly find and hire for these roles, so we decided it was the perfect time to create a helping hand,” says Jongsma.
The whole team says that since their first brainstorming meetings they believed they could help the healthcare system by creating a disruptive platform that healthcare organizations would value to streamline their hiring process while helping the most skillful healthcare professionals in the region find their dream jobs.
They added that one of the most important aspects they worked on was ensuring that the burden of searching for a new job was not placed on healthcare workers. Instead, they focused on letting their profile on the Caring Support platform do the heavy lifting. To achieve this, they used a fresh research and development approach, which allowed them to lower the cost of talent acquisition and serve as a tool to help with COVID-19.
