How to Connect Caregivers with Healthcare Employers?

There is a new job matching platform in town, and it is all about the healthcare sector. Caring Support is an innovative job matching platform serving as a central resource for workers and organizations to come together to fill in the numerous amounts of caregiver job vacancies that have opened during the pandemic. The platform is especially focused on Personal Support Workers (PSW), Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Practical Nurses (RPN), and healthcare volunteers in Southwestern Ontario. It founded by entrepreneur Joseph Jongsma and his associates, is simplifying the hiring process for HR departments in the healthcare sector across the province.

How does Caring Support Help Caregivers and Healthcare Employers?

This platform aims to accelerate and simplify the talent acquisition process for healthcare organizations, helping them find active skilled workers in the region. At the same time, it works to provide healthcare workers like Personal Support Workers (PSW), Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Practical Nurses (RPN), and volunteers, with the best job postings available in the job market, so they can move forward with their careers. Also, it serves as a central resource for caregivers and organizations to easily connect and communicate, accelerating and simplifying the hiring process while saving time and money.

Once registered to the platform, healthcare workers can create candidate profiles where they can share details about their education, experience, and qualifications in general. They also have the option to upload a video resume, which is a great audiovisual tool for them to stand out to employers and show who they really are. These candidate profiles are available to healthcare organizations subscribed to the platform. They also have access to a job board where they can post their latest job postings.

What makes it so unique is being the first job matching platform in Southwestern Ontario truly dedicated to the healthcare sector. Plus, the site offers several features like in-app messaging, in-depth searching, and detailed filtering, making it a convenient and resourceful tool for HR departments and job seekers alike.

According to President of the company, Caring Support’s goal is to transform the way employers and candidates come together, especially in this critical time for healthcare nationwide, when front-line and caregiving positions are more essential than ever before

Support to the Healthcare Community

It is also building an online community where they are identifying the challenges related to employment in the healthcare sector being faced every day by healthcare workers, caregivers, and volunteers currently looking for work in Ontario and soon across Canada. They are present in social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and LinkedIn where healthcare workers can share their concerns, ideas, and thoughts.

Additionally, the platform features helpful articles written for current and future PSWs and PSWs looking for new jobs, with tips for job interviews, recording video resumes, and more. Most articles discuss important aspects of working in healthcare, like necessary skills, job requirements, alternative job titles, duties, and responsibilities.

On this site, the healthcare community can also find relevant news pieces about new government benefits, regulations, and innovations in this field, as well as recommendations for workers to take care of their physical, mental, and emotional health. In fact, the company is constantly creating content for nurses and PSWs to learn how to manage stress, take some time for self-care, get more sleep, and achieve a better work-life balance.

The Company’s History

Our first idea was creating a simple job matching site dedicated to reducing the effort of finding a new job for healthcare workers, but during the early stages of the pandemic, this idea evolved into something more. When healthcare organizations required more front-line caregivers to backfill staff who were being infected with COVID-19, we realized that talent acquisition was not meeting the mark to quickly find and hire for these roles, so we decided it was the perfect time to create a helping hand,” says Jongsma.

The whole team says that since their first brainstorming meetings they believed they could help the healthcare system by creating a disruptive platform that healthcare organizations would value to streamline their hiring process while helping the most skillful healthcare professionals in the region find their dream jobs.

They added that one of the most important aspects they worked on was ensuring that the burden of searching for a new job was not placed on healthcare workers. Instead, they focused on letting their profile on the Caring Support platform do the heavy lifting. To achieve this, they used a fresh research and development approach, which allowed them to lower the cost of talent acquisition and serve as a tool to help with COVID-19.
